In Islamabad, Pakistan, 14 people were killed and 28 injured in a Shia Muslim religious school, Friday, June 21st. 2 militant attackers and 1 suicide bomber entered the school with the intention of detonating in the inside of the school but was not able to make it the far into the building. There was an exchange of gunfire within the school with the police guard who was able to injure the suicide bomber. Unfortunately, the bomber was able to make his way into the building and detonate the explosives.
Shia Rights Watch demands immediate action to protect children in Pakistan. Children have right to security and safety. Also schools must be well protected so children practice their right to education in a safe place. SRW condemns targeting school and asks all parties to stop act of violent toward citizens.
