Shia Rights Watch attended the third annual Islamic Information Center convention on September 2nd.
The main purpose of this convention was to increase Shia activists’ role in the community. This convention also focused on professionalism, civic engagement, activism. The Shia Leadership initiative for Muslims Convention is dedicated to brainstorming ideas, plans, and initiatives to elevate the status of our Shia community in the United States, Europe and Middle East countries. SRW’s founder had a chance to meet with the Department of Homeland Security, and Department of State representatives and discuss Shia’s situation in the United State and other countries. SRW also, had a chance to speak with Professors of Harvard and Nebraska University in order so solve the problems that is going on in Bahrain and in Pakistan. Also met with producer of Prophet Muhammad the legacy to discuss the Media’s role regarding stereotypes toward or against Muslim’s in general, and Shia in particular. Our meeting with Ahlul Bayt TV Executive Director Sayed Mahdi Modarssi to look for solution to end the Crime Against Shia in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia which is going on for the past couple months.
