Today, Bahrain’s high criminal court ordered the release of Mariam Al Khawaja. The interior ministry stated, “In accordance with an order from the high criminal court, Mariam Abdul Hadi Al Khawaja was released dependent on a guarantee of her place of residence,” she is also banned from exiting Bahrain. Mariam was arrested on August 30th from the International Airport. She was entering Bahrain in order to visit his imprisoned father.
Mariam holds Danish passport, yet the government of Denmark has not protected her against the discriminations she is facing in Bahrain.
