Shia Rights Watch Defending Justice and Rights
Shia Muslims woke up to another violent day in the capital of Iraq, Baghdad. Multiple car bombs exploded in mostly Shia neighborhoods in Baghdad on Sunday, killing at least 26 people and wounding 100.
This comes only one week after the killing of 34 Shia Muslim in several cities in Iraq. Iraqi government fails to protect the Shia majority in the country and anti-Shia terrorists are taking advantage of the governements weakness through targeting innocent people.
This month only, Shia communities were attacked at least three times and each attack claimed more than 20 lives.
SRW have repeatedly asked and demanded Iraqi government to invest more on the security and safety of the people. Terrorist activities and sectarian discrimination is increasing in Iraq and the government must act immediately to prevent and stop the ongoing violence.
