This Mother’s day Support Women Protesters

Bahrain-WomenShia around the world should show their solidarity to the brave women of the Middle East. Ahead of Mother’s day, Shia Rights Watch is calling on its supporters to mark the day by sending messages of support to mothers and women in the region.

Throughout Shia history, women have been an inspiring forces for change and stood up against repressive forces to defend human rights and promote equality. Looking to Lady Fatima, the beloved daughter of Prophet Mohammad as their role model, Shia woman have played a critical role in recent uprisings across the world.

Women and mothers in Iraq, Malaysia, Pakistan and Afghanistan, support Shia rights every day. They lose their beloved children and husbands in anti-Shia activities every day. Yet they strongly defend Shia rights on the forefront of protest.

Shia Rights Watch’s report on Bahrain states many women lost their lives to defend their faith and many mothers lost their loved ones to defend Shia rights.

Woman in Saudi Arabia are fighting for their rights every day. Shia woman are participating in peaceful protests along with men to do their share in defending Shia rights.

In Yemen, women are at the forefront of mass protests calling for religious equality and freedom.

All around the world, anywhere that Shia rights are being violated, courageous Shia women defended Shia by protesting, donating, losing their loved ones and even losing their own right to life.

Shia Rights Watch supports women across the world that continue to defend Shia rights. All human rights defenders should stand in solidarity with those Shia women and let them know the world is behind them in their historic moments.
